  2. 1) What part of the extract shows change in the attitude of others?
    When Lakshmana Sastry summoned the new teacher, and asked him not to spread the poison of the social inequality and communal intolerance in the minds of innocent children. This strong message reformed the young teacher.


    2) Which part of the extract expresses the originators’ feelings and attitudes?
    The feelings and attitudes of the originator are expressed as
    - a short boy,
    - undistinguished looks,
    - very secured childhood both materially and emotionally


    3) Which part of the extract expresses abstract things and ideas?
    Abstract things and ideas expressed are
    - Father possessed great innate wisdom and true generosity of spirit,
    - very secured childhood both materially and emotionally,
    - teacher could not stomach
    - a strong sense of conviction conveyed
    - reformed the young teacher


    4) Discuss the various functions of the language that you could identify from this extract.
    The various functions of the language that were identified from this extract are
    - Social Function – The social interaction could be seen between the boy and his friend as well as between the Lakshmana Sastry and the new teacher.
    - Expressive Function – There was expression of grief by the friend when the boy was asked to change his place.
    - Intellectual aspect – The thought process of Lakshmana Sastry where is convey the message of not spoiling the environment of the village by spreading the social inequality.

  3. 1. When a new teacher came to the class and saw a Hindu priest's son sitting with a Muslim boy was unable to stomach that Scenario

    2.When the new teacher made APJ Abdul Kalam tk sit on the last bench and Ramanandan Sastry to sit on the first bench Kalam became very sad and started weeping by this attitude of the teacher.

    3. How being a teacher who in order to become a role model in student's life rather tried to spread the poison of inequality and communal intolerence in the minds of innocent children.
    On the other hand Lakshmana Sastry summoned the teacher and made her to apologize and not time spread such poison in the minds of the children which is a sign of true humanity and integrity.
